?

I waited for you,
for a very long time,
a half hour or so,
but a lifetime it seemed.

A lifetime of waiting,
anxiously,
waiting, wondering, wishing.

A lifetime of waiting,
patiently,
unsure of if you would come.

As I sat by the water,
and watched life pass by,
I fell asleep.

Dreaming,
I thought I saw you,
pass me by and leave,
like life.

I saw you,
but not just you,
I saw all of you.
all the different yous...

in clusters,
by the water,
and in the air,

I heard a voice,
call out to you,
asking for you,
for all of you.

Asking to know your fears,
and your weaknesses,
Asking to be let in.

In, into your mind,
your emotions,
into your essence,
all of you.

Asking,
begging, not to be shut out,
not to have to wait anymore,

Begging not to wonder,
about you,
about having you,
Begging, wishing, waiting,

Yet not wanting to know,
and having to leave,
not wanting to know if you wouldnt come,
not wanting to have to watch you pass by,
like life.

Pass, and be gone.

And never be there again,
an illusion,
a memory,
a brush, or shirt, or grave,
a dream.

I waited for you,
alone,
by the water,
anxiously,
patiently,
watching life pass by.

You were late,
smiling,
panting,
flustered.

Smiling,
panting,
alive.

you were sorry you kept me,
but i smiled,
and said its okay.
Because i dont mind waiting.

Waiting for you,
for all of you,
waiting.
wondering.
wishing.
